Please help! Bmw 323i 1999 steptronic South Africa

Hi Guys

Hoping i can get some advice!

I have a 1999 Bmw 323i steptronic with 177 000km on the clock

The problems i have been having are:

* When starting the car, there is sometimes a knocking sound that come from the engine and dissapears after a little while
* When approaching a robot and slowing to stop, when im braking slowly to come to a stop the car revs itsself higher and its often a shaky stop
* When idling or waiting at a robot, the car shakes and sometimes when pulling off after shaking too much it is almost tractor like feeling and rough, not smooth as ususal. If i switch the car off and restart it is ok
* When i pick speed up between 40km - 70km per hour there is a funny 'catching' sound by the left wheel, once over that it is perfectly fine

Any help would be greatfully appreciated! I have it booked in for tomorrow morning with the mechanics to have a look at it

Your car is missfireing on one of six cylinders.Check ignition coils and spark plugs.It is intermittent problem and eventually one of these things will fail completly and trigger "check the engine" light on dashboard.
