petrol in my diesel 320 !! please help

i have a 03 320td and made the mistake of puttin petrol into it, the tank was almost empty ( diesel light been on around 15 miles) and i filled up with £8 of unleaded and then drove approx 2 mile in total before realsing something was wrong, the heater plug light came on and the car was smokin pritty bad an the turbo was not coming in, i then filled the tank to the brim ( £57.40 ) with diesel and now the car seems to be running fine with no smoke and plenty of pull, but the worry now is if any long term damage could occur and wether its worth draining the tank as i only drove it 3 mile back home after filing up with diesel. at the moment there is £8 unleaded and £60 diesel in the tank.... any advice would be appriciated.. thanks

That's a bit hard to say. Personally, I'd give very serious consideration to draining the tank.

Witeshark is right. It might not have done anything but whats left could do some damage...you never know. In my opinion draining it and buying more gas is a lot cheaper then risking haveing to do repairs.

thanks both for the replies, does any1 know how i would drain the tank, also could prove difficult with roughly 60 ltrs poring out......

I think I'd do that at a fuel station where the fuel can be safely handled.

Usually there is a drain plug on the bottom of the tank
