I get P1470 error code on my 2000 323i. Any suggestions?
Autozone gives P1470. I paid $100 at a BMW-shop and get codes
246=F6 Flow rate, secondary air system, too low, bank 2.
245=F5 Flow rate, secondary air system, too low, bank 1.
126=7E solenoid valve.Tank leak diagnosis pump, activation.
In addition: Outside air temperature sensor is missing.
The last makes sense because the OAT shows -40F
The shop seems to think that all I should do is replace the Temp sensor, but I am afraid the real problem is the 126=7E error
246-F5 & 246-F6 code - when you get these 2 codes same time, your first line of suspect is the airfilter of the secondary air pump. change that and make sure the air lines are clean, and you'll be fine.
secondary air pump is by the left of the firewall, when u stand infront of ur car looking at the engine bay.
OAT sensor.... that is connected in the front bumper area. Not related to the above codes
Thank you WHITESHARK. With the 126-7E the post #3 suggests I should not pass the emission-test here in Arizona. But the car did pass a month or so ago before I bought this car 4 days ago??
why don't you have the light cleared first.... reset everything and drive. If the light dsnt come back, then it was just a glitch. If it does come back, then you do have an EVAP problem.
** a missing OAT sensor will not cause a Check Engine Light to come on
**OBD2 Check Engine Lights are designed to light up when there are emissions and driveability problems ONLY.
