delboy is an unknown quantity at this point
can someone please help. ive got a 318i v-plate that will not stop overheating. it will over heat while i am driving, even on the motorway, or when its idling in the drive. does anyone know about the fans, mine doesn't seem to be drawing any air, there seems to be no drag. please can someone help. used

are all your belts still in place????? 1 of them frives the water pump...
also,,look for a kinked pipe or somthing similiar


do you still get heat from the heater????


turn it on full when the car starts to o ver heat

if there is no heat,,,your thermostat has gone kapput

Is the fan turning with engine running, or with AC on? If not, disconnect the electrical connector/s at fan temp switch and then with iginiton on run jumper wirs from battery (+/-) to the fan swithc temp switch and see if the fan runs (this troubleshoots the fan motor and relay or resistor).

lots of heat from the heater, all belts in place, seems very odd!!!!

Not odd at all at the dealer. due to the water pump impellar being made of plastic (german technology) they come completely off the pump shaft and crumble. if your going to fix this oyurself replace the thermostat, thermostat housing and the water pump. along with all the o rings.
