Onboard Computer / Instrument Cluster Malfunction

2000 323i w/nav

This morning when I came out to my car, I noticed that the right turn signal indicator on the instrument was blinking widly and the turn signal indicator gong was making wierd sounds. The turn signal stock was in the neutral position, so I took out the fuses for the instrument cluster to try to reset it. After some trial and failure, including needing to remove the On-board computer and On-board Diagnose II fuses, things were operating relatively normally. Except now the speedometer, odometer, and consumption gauges no longer function. The only settings on the nav monitor that show up are range and ext. temperature, the turn signal stock OBC button no longer functions.

I've tried replacing the fuses in various orders, have tried a service reset and fiddled with the diagnostics (all the gauges cycle normally), and even resorted to disconnecting my battery for an hour, but nothing seems to work as far a fix.

Has anyone run into a similar situation? I'm scheduled to take into my local shop next Wednesday, but I'm hoping there's an easy fix to this that doesn't require replacing any control modules.
