Not sure whether synthetic is in my car at this point, but I want to switch to synthetic and I hear Mobil 1 is not certified for BMWs. Can someone give me what rating the oild must me and a recommended brand.

Should be Castrol Synthetic for BMW or Mobil 1 Fully synthetic. 5w-30.

Thanks for the feedback.

That means I can use Mobile 1 in all three of my vehicles.

2000 C5 Corvette
2000 C/K Truck 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive
2001 BMW 325I with sport package.

the BMW dealer where I bought my car uses both Mobil 1 and Castrol... I dont know about the castrol if it is RS or what but they use only them two types... I prefer using MOBIL 1 0-40 in my car coz that's the one I have or at least I have seen to be the best.

if you want to use top of the line oil i suggest
castrol synthetic TWS (bmw uses this for all their ///M cars)

or go to the shelf and find either mobil 1 , quaker state full synthetic , or lubro molly synthetic
