oil separater

hi all i have a 1999 328ci im just wondering if my oil separater has a diafram in just that mines sounds like its leaking air

Yes the OSV/PCV is a diaphragm, if its going or gone you will get white smoke from the tail pipe a start up, if its just starting to go you will get rough idle on start up & a sucking noise from the dip stick (when removed)
