Unhappy Oil Pressure Question

So, I had my car into my local BMW dealership this week to have a few things (minor) taken care of. They checked and topped off the oil, coolant, etc. The bad thing is that they did not put on the cap for the oil on top of the engine. : I drove around 30 miles before the "service engine soon" light came on to warn me of an issue. The question I have is whether there could be any damage to the engine. There was NO oil leaking out of the open port, and the dealer says that there are NO ill effects from this. I just want an independant opinion. Anyone else???

there should not be at all, if oil did not jizz thru the hole. the check engine light likely came on not because low oil pressure, but because the pcv system got confused.
