Check the amount of oil in the engine.
It could be a bad oil pump taking its time to develop proper pressure, or a faulty oil pressure sensor. Is the engine noisey when you start it up and progressively quietens down after running for a while?
Why this sensor is so expensive i've seen on rockauto for ~160. Is there way to test it like measure resistance in my old sensor or can i take it out and clean it?
Another problem that could be a possible issue. I hate to be the one to bring up worse case scenario. Your new engine. Is it new or rebuilt used? And if so a possibiltiy might be to much bearing clearence. Does your oil light flicker from time to time? I don't think your oil sensor might be an issue (But yes please check this to make sure it is working correctly). If the oil sensor is bad sometimes some manufactures will design into the system that the car will not start. A fail safe preventing someone starting and running the car with no oil pressure.
Yep it sure will knock.....if there was no pressure. However he still has some pressure. I am betting on the fact that after the engine wars up. Pressure returns to normal.
