Oil change reset button? - BMW Forum

Does anyone know how to reset the mileage button that tells you when you need to change your oil or where it is located on a 05' 325ci? I would like to start changing the oil myself since the dealer charges a arm & a leg to do it, and so I could change it more often then the recommended 15,000 miles. Please give detailed instructions since I can be a tad slow at times.

- Press and hold trip meter button down and turn ignitiion key to accesory position.
- Hold until you see 'reset'.
- Release and immediately press and hold again for 5 seconds, until 'reset' flashes.
- Release and press again.

Is there a similar procedure for the 1999 M3 or must I get a code reader/reset unit?

for 1999 M3 you ground pin 7 on the DL connector for 10+ seconds and it resets your lights for the oil change mileage

hi ya' Jimmy. nice to see you again. I still remember you from back then- been about a year i was away from all the action but i am back, at least for now :-)

its a london thing! as you dont get it i wont explain, it could ruin a nice relationship.What have you been up to my friend? a years a long time to be outa things.
