Oil Change

I would like to change the oil on my 2001 325i sedan. I have always changed the oil myself in all my cars and want to do it on the BMW. Anything special I need to know. What are you guys using for oil and oil filters. How many quarts does it take.

2001... what's that an M52TU? 7 quarts of oil. Get the BMW synthetic 5W-30 and an oil filter from your dealership. Nothing else special about changing the oil on a bimmer. Well, except the wonderful convenience that it's a drop-in filter, not a cartridge on the bottom of the pan.

Have fun with it!
