Oil is a funny subject. You'll get a lot of opinions. My take: as long as its semi-gold in color and you change it regularly, it really doesnt matter. That said, I've used Castrol 10-W40 in all my cars for well over 10 years. Even the cheap oils now-a-days are better than the top of line oils were 10-20 years ago.

Alot of my cars have or have had between 100 and 300k miles on the original parts... even auto transmissions. Regular change intervals for all fluids is the name of the game. I use mobil one 0w40 euro synthetic oil, personally.
