obc not working - BMW Forum

can anyboby help?e46 obc does not come on.i mistakenly touched the battery terminals whist tightening the nuts.checked fuses(all fine).after diagnosis (computer reads: cannot recognise obc.but the radio /cd works.the screen is blank.

Try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes.

Oh dear!!! thats bad news Im thinking you have fried the OBC, you could try the dealer to see if they can reprogramme it, but I think they will come up with the same answer.

Someone else on here may come up with a different answer so stick around for a while.

Try this:

I don't think shorting the battery will have affected anything drastically, try getting him to do a general reset, Disconnect the battery short the two leads whilst disconnected for about 5 mins, reconnect the battery. It might reset the OBC.
