Noob......plz Be Kind

Hi all, i have an x plate 318

The battery was flat the other day,now since i charged it up i'm having bother with the cd changer.
The radio and tape are fine but the changer (6 disc factory job ) is keep saying no disc even when it's fully loaded.
When i remove the disc holder and put some discs in then replace it you used to be able to hear the changer read each disc.But since i charged the battery the sound which the changer makes once it's been replaced is not the same.
Any ideas please as i'm abit of a auto / electrical novice.

sound as in" music sucks now" or the whirring the device makes???

Yes,the whirring sound used to be longer when the changer was ok.But since i charged it it barely makes a sound.

wellllll, it seems to me that it pays the music fine, and is quieter. you win

this may be coincidental with the battery stuff, but i would totally be ok with this. the little plastic gears make noise, and now they stopped.

No sorry m8, you picked me up wrong.
Since the whirring sound got quieter it will not play discs anymore.Now when i load it it says NO DISC,every time.

AHA!

chances are that it is not putting the disc on the spindle. try removing the unit out of the car, taking the cover off, and inspecting for

1. pieces of plastic. i.e. you are screwed.
2. dirt anywhere, blow it off with a compressed air can , like the one for computer keybords.

also when you have the cd player out,,,check the fuse!!!!!

there is one in the back off it
as you say it happened when you re charged your battery

if it is a factory cd changer like you said then it would be covered under some sort of warrenty...right?
