none starter

my 51 plate 318i wont turn over the battery is fully charged and starter motor is ok it wont start with a bump has anyone any ideas

So when you try to start it the engine doesn't actually crank at all, or it cranks but doesn't fire?
How long has it been since it was started? Has anything been done to it between when it last ran and this issue occuring?

this is part of the problem i bought the car from a friend he parked it at home came out next morning to find battery dead he tried a jump start and engine would not turn over its been stood 3 months , i fitted new battery removed starter and checked it it works fine , when you turn ignition on dash lights flicker a little bit just like a low battery and indiator on have just spoke to him he says he had it coded and it came up ecu, the car is mint seams a shame to break it it only stands me at £300 its a 51 plate 318 se est 8 month tax and test

no the engine does not turn over at all it wont bump either, have turned engine over by hand its free and no high spots

Judging the description of lights flickering in start up I would assume your alternator is bad. Same thing happened on my car. Take it out and have it tested just to make sure.

had it checked just been told the key needs coding as its been stood with a flat battery
going into bm tomorrow, so i will keep it and not scrap it
