Newbie with a few simple questions…..

1: I'm looking for all the components needed to plug my laptop in my car for diagnostic purposes…(Software and Connectors) What’s out there for the do it yourselfer…? that won't break the bank?

2: I live in the Toronto Canada Area…are there any recommended BMW Parts stores locally? Canadian Websites that may have info on locally available mods and such?

Okay, I don't really know the answer for your laptop question.
Probably someone else here does, but just ignores it, and passes to
the next post. What you could do, though, is just plain leave
it running on it's battery, and when that dies out, just recharge
it in that lighter thingamagigy. K, I don't know how to do that, but
I do know you can somehow. My dad used to do it all the time when
we owned a laptop. And that store question.. check this out...

Thanks for the reply.....I think I found what I was looking for it was more along the lines of connecting to the OBDII to data log and such...

I found an ISO to RS232 converter which allow for real-time access to the ECU great tool also I purchased the Peak Reset tool and Code Reader..
If anyone in the GTA needs to pull some codes PM me....
