Why does my used Bimmer back area squeak after I turn off the car or get out of it?

alot of bimmers do this.

the most popular problem with that symptom is the e-brake. to my knowledge the ebrake is 'loose' and makes a squeak when you get in and out of the car.

another problem could be the rear suspension.

It seems to be very common on the e-46's. I don't think I would consider it a problem because it is so common and it doesn't damage the car. It seems on mine, if you pull the e-brake very tight the squaking will stop.

My car does this too, I asked the service manager and he said it was the E-brake. If you have an automatic I don't know what it is, but my 330xi is manual and does it. He said it was the weight shifting after I got out of the car.
