Love it! Just on here seeing what I can learn. Very informational.
The remote locks/unlocks doors trunk, does the "all" windows down.
Problem area is that it won't arm the alarm. No lights flashing, no horn and or chirp(I have no idea what it's supposed to sound like)...the "clown nose" just sits under the mirror and doesn't light up.
Is it deactivated completely somehow?
Thanks for any advice and thanks for all the advice so far from just reading the forum!
Wow, a 2000 with only 52K. I bought my '00 328i in August of 2004 with 58K... I'm up to 107K now. I had a few problems with my car, all resolved. If you start to wonder about something, just look up some of the threads I started.
Enjoy the ride, I know I have (must part ways in June).
figured it out when I went to the dealer...the first "service advisor" took my key and put it into the dock and proceeded to tell me that she recommended the inspect package 2 for my car. She then scheduled a day that I could come in and have them look at my "alarm".
I pull in another "service advisor" talks to me, takes my key inserts it into dock, and says: "here's your problem it doesn't have an alarm"...needless to say I was like tell the lady over there "thanks" for wasting my time and yours...but got a quote for $585 for them to install it...
thinking about installing myself and then having it updated, the question I have are the dealers "picky" about doing this service for things they didn't install?
