it's a 2001 330i with high miles but very clean and well maintained. I have been reading the forums and I have decided to do some preventive maintenace mainly on the cooling system. What are the best web sites to check to find good prices and make sure I am getting proper direct replacement parts? TIA

Welcome to Bimmerwerz. Glad to Have you here.

PelicanParts.com is an excellent site for OEM parts at good prices. I also like BimmerSpecialist.com. I also like Bimmerzone.com, ECSTuning.com and Turner Motorsports.

If you can't find what you need at any of those places then you probably don't need it! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Thanks LV. I do have another question. Do you

have any suggestions for an inexpensive (if there is such a thing) code reader. There are probably a lot of different devices out there. i am by no means a mechanics although I am fairly mechanically inclined. I don't need a professional reader just an adequate unit that with identify codes when a service indicator comes on.
TIA

I've seen em for $79 and $399 so it's up to you. Do you want one that just tells you the codes and clears them, or a professional mechanics grade code reader? Most local auto parts stores carry the basic ones for good prices.

Don't listen to this idiot. He's just a spammer. I don't know how he hadn't gotten banned yet.

Might be for the best. All of his posts link to that china clone stuff.
