New M3 wheels on a 323i 1999

Hi, I have a E46 model ( 323i )sedan. I have just purchase new wheels for it, front M3 rims 225 - 45 - 18 and for the rear M3 rims 225 - 40 - 18. The front are perfect except the rear thay are to tight. What can I do that will resolve this issue. When I get a little bump they are scratching (tires) in my back fender. Do I put new shocks? or something else. I would like to keep the very good handling. Thanks

Roll your fenders.... What is the width of the rear wheels?
