Hello everyone, I just recently purchased (yesterday) my first car and it was a 2000 BMW 323i. I want to start modding my vehicle as quickly as possible, what do you guys recommend should be my first mod?
clears, european lights, or whatever you like to call them should deffinately be first imo. if its an auto and your on a budget you may not be very pleased with the performance you get out of a chip and intake for the money you spent, but i'd deffinately get a good exhaust system at some point for a better sound such as AA or UUC. i really wouldnt spend too much on performance, so next (after clears and exhaust) i would get a nice set of 18" wheels, actually anywhere from 17"-19" depending on ur taste would look good. you still got suspension and exterior to worry about after that, but thats probably a long ways off.
I want to buy a air filter for the beemer.
WHat do you guys recommend?
ANd do you see any performance gain
FOr Ex: gas mileage increase, acceleration, better response time?
Thanx
k@n makes good foam/oil air filters. go to their web-site. the performance gains you want will be negligible, but i am sure you will feel better, and your car will love you.
the best thing to do in your car is to relocate the intake air temperature sensor as far proximally as possible.
most manufacturers (bmw included) place them in the intake close to the manifolds. this results in the sensor measuring radiant heat, not the true intake air temp. consequently, the computer retards ingintion to prevent detonation (it is wrong in thinking that), and turns your car into a dog.
importantly, i do not believe this mod voids warranty if preformed by dinan at a bmw dealership.

Hey Guys!
I just bought a 323CI also about a month ago! Wow...traded a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD V8 for it...I feel like I went from a buggy to a cadillac! The ride and drive is awesome, however I do miss the punch of the V8. Anyways...My BMW is a 2000 Black with Black leather, Automatic, Sports Pkg, Sport Seats. What do you guys think would look good as far as upgrades? I don't really want to mess with the engine/computer/or any mechanical things, because I did that on my old '96 318i Convertible and screwed it up. So basically, cosmetic upgrades is what I'm interested in. I was thinking about some BMW chrome wheels and tinting the windows black?? What do you think? It already has chrome exhaust tips. However, I've seen NUMEROUS BMW's with the windows tinted and around the edges it looks terrible b/c of the little raised dots. Euro tags?? What do you guys think?? Thanks!!
