I recently purchased a 00 325i, and have been told that BMW have some special things to do for maintenance that make them more costly than just taking a Honda down for an oil change. The car didn't come with a service manual (something I am looking for) if anyone knows where I can find a service manual for cheap let me know. My other question is, what should I be looking for in maintenance? And can I take this car down to any old jiffy lube and have them do the oil change or will I need to take it to a specialized place or the dealership?

Normal service shops are able to do basic maintenance, but I'd still make sure to know their reputation.
