Has anyone got any idea how to change the blower resistor. My 325ci (2001) has just been diagnosed with a knackered resistor, I believe it`s a pretty common fault with E46`s. But I certainly ain`t going to pay the best part of 200 quid : to the main dealer when I can get the part for 30. Any help would be appreciated.
glovebox must be removed to access it. then its on the right side of the heater case. i dont know of any good writeups however if you go to www.bmwtips.com and then go into tips n tricks there is a writeup on musty odor from AC system. Most of the pics are for e39 but there is 1 pic of e46, which will show you the location.

Need help...replaced blower motor and blower motor resistor and the blower motor is vibrating on high speed...the resistor isn't heating up very good and the fan is not blowing well. We put the old resistor back in and it seemed a little hotter but I'm not sure what's wrong with the new fan.
