Need help with door lock actuator 2005 325xi - BMW Forum

Hi,
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. The rod for lock/unlock on my drivers door lock actuator fell off. I am trying to figure out how to reattach it. I've removed the door panel, etc and the bolts that hold the actuator mechanism to the door but I still can't pull it out far enough to see how to reattach the rod. I assume the actuator is attached somewhere's else but I am not sure where. It appears that it may be attached at the door handle as well. Any ideas on what I am missing?

Thanks, that is a nice breakdown! I got through this repair succesfully last week. I was getting hung up on getting the actuator out once all the bolts were removed. It ended up being that I needed to remove the keylock which is held on by an allan screw and hidden under a rubber plug on the door. Once I removed the keylock, the whole assembly actuator assembly came out and I was able to service it.
