Navigation/radio monitor not working after batter replacement. Monitor shows a blue screen but no image. any suggestion on what can be the problem. im thinking the system needs to be reset? if so how.

disconnect nav.computer and check whether radio works.make sure pilot light on nav.unit is off before u disconnect.

Did that recommendation work?

Also, how do you disconnect the navigation computer? I thought it's hardwired in the trunk?

pretty simple!slide nav.unit out you"l see 2 sq connectors at the back.should be blue and red.now slide the the blk clip back while pressing the lug underneath it down.the plug should pop out.

Ive disconnected the Nav computer before, notting changed. radio works fine. Any other suggestion. what should i be looking for.

get hold of another unit and connect. if it works then your nav. unit is shot.i had the same problem with mkiii now i"ve just upgraded to mkiv.here in south africa no expertise to repair.i am sure you could repair yours.

wasnt aware i could upgrade to the mk1v, will i have to mod the connection.

Does upgrading to the mk1v solve the GPS issues?

if the plugs are the same then its just plug and play.my advice to you is to try and get someone to borrow theirs be it amkiii /mkiv to solve your nav.issue.if all goes well then go for it.however you might encounter one problem which is the nav.disc.one might be wired up for PROFESSIONAL or BUSINESS.take your VIN NO.to any agent and they will be able to tell you.

send me a photo of your nav. unit.what amp and tuner have you got?and have you got a tv tuner module?
