Muffler Mounting

I noticed that my muffler wiggles around quite easily. I remember a while back, it used to be stiffer and doesn't move as much. Is it suppose to be like that, loose and wiggling around a lot? Or is it suppose to be stiff and not move that much?

relatively stiff, check the rubber damper that the muffler is hung on and see if it's worn or something.

have you looked under the car yet ? you might have a broken hanger or like trigger said a worn out dampener. check all weilds and supports , its should be a straight forward diagnosis. good luck

i wouldnt worry about it unless it really bothers you. my muffler wiggles alot, but is on there good and doesnt make any noise or rattles

actually it's suppossed to be on there tight... check your nuts and bolts down below...

excessive play in the exhaust mounting will cause more problems further down the road
