So I just got a 2001 330i with the performance package. Racing Dynamics is right by me so it got me thinking about modifications. So I was thinking what would be the best modification I can do to my car to improve performance? I would like to see more HP's and better handling at a minimum cost.
chip and intake is a pretty good combo. Its nothing crazy but something you can feel and hear in the higher rpm's. It's usually one of the first mods that most people do as far as performance goes? Let us know what you decide to do...got any pics?
The best modification you can do is to take some lessons to upgrade your driving skills - I'm talking lessons at a track - this will be the best modification for your car.
Software and intake will yield minimal performance gains. Many people will say a new rear diff. is the greatest mod they ever did. Couple that with software, intake, exhaust, pullies, etc., and your in even better shape.
If you want significant performance gains, you need to go FI.
BTW, 2001 330 with performance package? Do you mean sport package? Performance package wasn't available until 2003.

Performance Package doesn't exist for 2001 330i.
Best mod is the driver.. driving school.. go to as many autox or track events as possible.. etc..
actual car performance
short of getting a supercharger.. only thing you can do is
pulleys (probably best bang for the buck), intake, software, and exhaust... unless you have 93 octane available.. do not get the shark as it will cause pinging on 91 octane..

What is "FI"? What is the cost of this for '01 330CI (approximately).
Also, what is approx cost for crank pulleys?
Where is a reliable supplier for upgrades ?
