I know of anything that can "fix" a cracked windshield, a similar situation happened to me on the highway a while ago and it was a small crack on the top of my windshield, i tried lots of things and asked many people and nobody knew what to do. Eventually the crack kept getting bigger and bigger until it went all the way down my windshield, and thats when i realized its time to get a new one cuz it might just shatter at some point and that could have been really bad. this might not the the advice your looking for and be quite expensive

There are injectable resins that will fill the crack if smaller than a dollar bill. Check with you insurance company. Some will do a crack repair for free to save the windshield. Otherwise contact a glass company and have them survey the damage. If they can fix it then you will save alot of cash....fix is usually less than $100 per crack versus new windshield cost.
