might get an e46

hey guys, ive had 2 e36's before, but am thinking about getting an e46, like 1 99 - 01, anything i should know or be careful with those first year e46s? i think some early 323's had tranny problems? any tips are greatly appreciated, im also looking into a 328 e46..so yea, help, lol thanks!

323 ftl, if u get a e46, it better be a 330 or m3

i was just using the 323s tranny problem as an example, if i do get an e46 id would probably be a 325 or a 328, 330 and m3 are too much at this moment

seriously thou, anything i should look for on an e46? any common problems like the 323 auto trannies?

the e46 m3 and 330 are out of the question. too expensive, more than likely it will be a 99-01 323 or 328, i will have (hopefully) around 11k to spend, worst case scenario, i have 9k to spend

but yea, any thing i should know or look for in an e46???

funny I got a cheaper insurance quote for a 330 then a 325

Erm, I think early E46's had issues with the rear suspension - It is alleged that the rear shock mounts wear pretty quickly. Having said that, I have a 2001 320i (2.2 litre 6cyl M54) with 81K miles and I haven't experienced anything of the sort.

Don't get a 1999 model. If possible financially, find a 2001, even if it is a 325.
