You posted on the E46/E90 section. What year car do you have? There really isn't much to these things, so if you have a 2000 328i, I would just get one from bavauto or pelican parts. If you have a newer car, you don't need a reset tool, just a sequence of button presses: my 330i - Garage

Nah... a reset tool only shorts/earths/connects two or three pins in the diagnostic socket...
From memory its pin 19 and 21 but don't try it until you get better pin advice...
