Magnum Rotors/PBR XBG pads - BAD COMBO !
Ok, @ 85k, I needed to change my pads+rotors. I read the drilled ones would be way more performant, better grip, pads cool faster, etc...so I said sure, why not?
Well, I got sucked into getting the cross-drilled Magnum rotors (F+R) and the PBR XBG pads...what a terrible combination ! When I hit the brakes, there is a very profound "rumming" noise, and the car doesn't stop the way it used to...it seems to slide...I tried bedding them, however, to no avail (actually I was told that these type of rotors don't need bedding..."just drive normal !"..???) I now have to hit the brakes HARD a few times, before it actually gets some sort of grip, and have to constantly hit the brakes multiple consecutive times to get some friction...and that terrible noise they make...what a bad combination, should have stuck to the smooth and reliable OEM combo...
