Maf Sensor Bypass

2000 323I has a very rough idle. It seams to run OK at operating speed. I have the car scanned, but this sensor did not throw a code. However when looking for a vacuum leak I disconnected and removed the MAF and the car idle great.

Since I can't get the part for a few days because there are no parts stores with it in stock. I have removed the sensor all together and used tubing to connect the air box to the intake. Is there any potential things that could be damaged doing this until the part comes in? We are only talking 2 maybe 3days.

Thanks

It's not recommended but it should be fine. The computer is abate to adapt to changes. Just don't drive it more then you have to
