| I'm no expert, however, you will require body mods to allow for the quad tips. I don't know if anyone makes a rear valence for non M3 3 series cars to accomodate for a M3 exhaust. The m3 rear bumper probably won't fit since the rear fenders are wider on a M3. Also, there is no spare tire on M cars due to the design of the exhaust so the M3 exhaust may not fit without first removing the spare tire well and if you get a flat, you'll need the tire repair kit from an M car. Finally, although the M3 exhaust looks cool, the air flow through the M3 muffler is not ideal since the exhaust gases are spilt from one stream on the down pipe to two sets of tips. So this probably will not improve the performance of your car. In fact, on the Dinan S2-M3, they designed a muffler that actually only has functioning tips on one side to optimize air flow (see November 2003 issue of Bimmer). The other set is a dummy exhaust pipe. After all, you don't need dual exhaust when you only have one bank of cylinders. True dual exhausts only work for Vee engines. Hope that this helps. |
