Lost Key...Need Replacement

Help...she lost her key!

My better half has lost her key to her 02 325i. The dealer wants $175 for replacement. Is there a better (cheaper) way to replace it quickly?

Unfortunately no. you have to "deal" with the dealer in this case.

Really! Well that figures. I have always been able to buy parts for my MB and Vette at discount prices away from the dealer...but never a key.

I would prefer if the keys are registered - I just bought my car used and the dealer only gave me one key when there should be FOUR: the two Master keys with remote alarm buttons, one master key without remote buttons as an emergency spare, and a key that opens the doors and the works the ignition but doesn't open the trunk or the glovebox. Useful for valet parking, the handbook says. So I need three more keys!

When I got mine I got 2 keys plus the spare (the 3series doesn't come with 4 keys like it's syblings)

Talk to the sales man that help you buy the car.. maybe he can get you a better price
