| I was hoping someone could offer some advice or has had a similiar problem.
So background into the car:
I own a 99 V 318ci... It was an old lease car that I bought when it was 4yrs old. It has done 60k and has a full dealer history.
It recently has had it Inspection II done, and the specialist came back with that the head gasket had gone. This too me indicates that the car had been somewhat hammered in its previous life, but I had it replaced all the same.
As soon as I got it back I noticed the problem of loss of power between 2 and 3k revs... It just kind of sticks, and does it irrespect of whether the engine is cold or hot. Now the explanation I got back from the specialist was that the Air maf sensor had gone, which controls the amount of air going into the engine, and that it was a common problem with the 4 cyclinder engine. The "reason" I hadnt noticed it before was that the gasket had gone, and water was leaking into the engine, obviously cooling it.
I'm waiting for the warranty to change the air maf sensor, but I was wondering if that is the real reason. After abit of research it could be that, but could it be blocked fuel feed and return lines?
If anyone can help that would be quality, as I just want it back to how it was...driving me nuts.
Thanks,
Stu. |
