looking for new car

Hey,

heres the deal i'm looking at getting a bmw 3 series for my first car. I can get a pretty decent deal on a 2000 323i w/the sport package. My only question is that alot of my friends drive A4's and then some drive 6 cyl. mustanges. Will i be able to keep up with my friends in the 323i? Also if not what would i have to do to keep up like exhaust(or anything else) or its just not even worth it should i go for the bigger models( 325, 328,330)? I know its all not about going fast but i just want to know if i will be wasteing my time with the 323. I just dont want to get shown up by a little civic or anything like that. Also if it is possible to stay with my friends how much $ am i looking at to do so?

Get 323, actually 323 is not smaler than 325 , the engine is the same size.
323 E46 1999 and 2000 have better record for any brakedown than 325 E46 models.Another thing- 323 has 170 hp and torque is 181 ft/lb @ 3500 rpm.
325 has 184 hp and torque is 175 ft/lb @ 3500 rpm
so , you see 323 i/ic has much better torque than 325.
