ArchaicAngel is an unknown quantity at this point
Well I thought I'd just write a little description of my BMW day today!

1st- Replaced Final Stage of the A/C. This only took about 2 hours, 20 some odd screws, and only minor strain. Doing it myself saved $200.

2nd- Replaced right and left control arms. Holy Jesus this was fun... Took around 5 hours at a full garage with lift, all the fun tools, etc. Let me just say that separating ball joints is a pain in the ass. Doing it myself saved $800

3rd- Replaced 1 rear shock. Yeah, only one. We ran into a stripped screw at 10:30pm this evening, and with half the car trim taken apart, it seemed like a good stopping place. Sadly, though, I have to go out of town all weekend, and won't be able to put my baby back together for another 4 days...she's already pissed, I can tell. AFTER I put the other one on, Doing it myself will have saved $200.

In summary, get a service manual and a day off, grease up and save some Cash!!
