Hi guys!
I received my lip spoiler today, just not sure exactly how far back on the trunk it should be. I've tried finding some close up pictures on the net but no luck
Can anyone provide me with sum pics of a lip spoiler *close up*.. some directly side on shots would be great too. If anyone has one on their car i would appreciate it if they could take some pics!

yes ive already tried that.. cant seem to find a decent pic.
..the spoiler is used, but 'like new'. i brought it from ebay and has a foamy type double sided tape. is this what bmw use? or do they use a special glue?
I was thinking of getting a rear lip spoiler on my car as well.
Not sure what the dealer uses to stick it on...you might want to go to a
reputable body shop and ask someone there for some friendly advice.

I have a '02 330ci and had a lip spoiler put on the car by the dealer when I purchased it. It had to be painted, but I believe they told me they just used the tape that was attached to the spoiler. I bought the car new in 2002 and the spoiler has not come off since.
If you want more assurance, contact a body shop that works on BMW's. You might want to contact your local BMW dealer and ask them which body shop they send all of their insurance work to.
Warm as ice, do you own a coupe or sedan? Is the spoiler made for a coupe or sedan?
It should fit flush with the edge of the trunk lid without any overhang. Is it coming up too short or too long? You may have bought one for a coupe or a sedan while you own a sedan or coupe, respectivealy.

hi, its a coupe spoiler for a coupe. i just wasnt sure *exactly* where on the trunk it went. clearly u said there should be no overhang, so that makes complete sense! i take it when looking side on at the car, there is no overhang. the spoiler is at a slight angle right?.. which means the bottom if the spoiler sits alittle forward on the trunk.. but as the top of the spoiler slopes outward, it is level with the trunk (i.e, no overhang)... something like my picture in the link... correct?...
alright this might help. here's a picture of my friends M3. notice the spoiler. not exactly flush with the edge, but a little bit of the spoiler hangs over. it's not exactly "overhang" but it continues the flow of the rear deck lid. the lid has that slant near the top. the spoiler shud follow some sort of invisible line to toniue the flow of that slant.
woobiee you should recognize this car.

thanks for the help everyone. its great being part of the community!
and welcome to the community. It's nice to see someone actually research proper placement rather than just proping it on there without a second thought. You're doing this the correct way.
Good Luck!
