LED Tail Light help

Hey guys, I hope you can help me out on this.

My father has 2003 325i. He bought some German tail lights. The brake, and two running light are LEDs and the turns are standard.

He wired them up and... well, they didn't exactly work.

I went over to help him out and ran some tests. I know that the two running lights are 12v, 25% duty cycle.... unless you pull the brake light, then one of them is brought up to 100% duty cycle.

Needless to say the LEDs don't like the pulsed power.

Now, on my VW, I can recode my lighting module to deal with LED vs incandescent lighting.

Can the BMW's lighting module be recoded / reflashed to NOT pulse the power? Or does anyone have a circuit to put into play that will deal with this problem?

Thanks much!

jeremer is an unknown quantity at this point
Are you talking about the fast flashing on the turn signal when it's on? If so, I think the dealership can fix that for you, or you can get a equalizer for the LED. It works fine for me. Hope this help
