Leaving G37 for 328 coupe.... ?

I have had my G37 coupe automatic for a little more than 3 years now, and now I'm ready for something new. The G37 is a great coupe and I didn't have any major mechanical issues with it. The car in a minor fender bender that wasn't properly fixed and the little bugs annoy me to the point where I want to get a new car.

I was thinking of purchasing a 2011 328 coupe. I like the updated minor exterior changes bmw has done for 2011. I also was able to find a good deal on the configuration that I wanted.

What concerns me the most if 1) how powerful are 328 coupes with auto? I know on paper its a 100 horse power loss but I think the bmw weights less. Are the autos that slow?
2) How reliable are the bmw in 328/auto configuration (since I'm thinking of keeping it for 6 years).

I know that 335 is more close in performance (and actually faster) than G37 but with fuel pump issues I'm concern with longevity of the car. So 335 are out of the picture. Since my wife doesn't drive stick, I'm most likely have to get an auto.

To those who have 328 auto coupes - what are your thoughts - speed and reliability.
