A quarter is pushed all the way into the rotating coin holder. It's in the first coin slot (towards the driver). The spring is not strong enough to push it out. Any ideas on getting out?
Spoke with my dealer. I hate to call the dealer on such a lame item. His reply? It's a defect. But, since it's still within the "free maintenance" with less than 36K, he ordered me a new one. I took the center cup holders out and the coin holder. My beef? Why the bloody hell are those pieces so hard to remove? The clips on the coin holder broke when I removed them. Lucky for me the clips on the permanent console (the e-brake surround) didn't break. For cripes sake, if you spill something within the cup holder, wouldn't it be nice to be able to take it out easily for cleaning? WTF?
So, the short of it is, I get a new coin holder. But, since I plan on keeping the car, I'm not going to use it for coins. If I get something stuck in there now, it's my dime so to speak.
Actually. it clearly says in the manual that the coin holder is not actually to be used for coins. :P
In all seriousness, after I got one stuck bad in my old 96 lincoln, I vowed never to use those push down pieces of crap again. My friend ALMOST started sticking my spare coins in there one day before I just about smacked the thing out his hand. I mean there is a nice little rubbery holder right there next to it under the armrest that is so much easier to access.
