Hi boys and girls, my name is Nicole Smith, i live in Miami Florida, i have a BMW 328i 1999 E46 Sedan, for 8 years now, i love my baby sedan, black, beautiful, there seems to be a problem though, today i went to visit my sister, i was listen to the radio fine, then i stopped at my sister house, and turned of the car. 20 mints, later i turned on the car, but no audio came out of the radio.
i have the factory BMW Business radio, everything is fine on the radio, i can see the names, of the tracks, the time, and the AM and FM stations, but there is no noise, coming out of it. maybe i was wondering, if a fuse blows out, can that make it not have sounds..? or maybe did my cousin put it on mute, when i was parking.
everyone is welcomed to help..

i would go to a dealer, but here in Miami Florida, the dealers just want to rip people off, so i have done a couple of things to my car, like change the headlight, fog lights, and other stuff. its easy as long as someone can explain me how to do it. im a smart girl.
how do i un mute the radio or if there is a way and how to reset the radio.

I've heard some people take out the battery in the trunk, out and disconnect it, for like 5 to 10 mints, what does this do to the car,? does this reset the radio, or what.what is the point of taking out the battery for 5 mints. . thanks

Ok, so with the car turned off, i check fuse 7, and fuse 41.. how do i know if the fuse is burned, will it show burned with some black on the inside, or will it show broken.

Ok thanks ill take both fuses 7 and 41 out of the fuse box, tomorrow and check them, because i left my car at my moms house and im at my dads house witch is like 4 hours away..
ill get back tomorrow to let you know if the fuse was broken or open,

one important question before i leave, if the fuse is broken or open, can i replace it with any fuse with the same amp, or those it have to be with that brand of fuse. thanks

Hi i checked, fuse 7, and fuse 41 this morning.. they where ok, nothing burned or broken on the inside... then when i was looking with a flashlight, at all the other fuses, fuse #27 witch is a 10 amp fuse.. was kind of broken on the outside, but i did not want to take it out, because it seems to be working just fine.. when i checked the manual it says that its for the reversing lights, so when i hit reverse everything is working fine..ill just change that fuse tomorrow because its not that important..
so here is my problem, as i explained in my first post, the radio, turn on , and i can see all the text perfectly... i can change the AM and FM stations, the CD , tracks, but there is no audio... so whats my next step....
Isnt there a Fuse in the amp itself? i think here is

It should be on the side of the amp which should be in your trunk behind the carpet on the leftside(driverside)
