Allright, so my parents car (2001.5 S4) needed its rotors turned and i wanted to go to Columbia to test drive some cars. My parents were busy with work so they let me take it down there! I had such a blast on the way there, but then I had an even better time because the service department didn't tell us there wasn't going to be a technician in today, so I was free to roam the city. While I was at the dealership I talked to the guy we got our Audi from and told him I wanted to check out the new S4's. He let me drive this nice looking Black w/grey leather one. I must tell you guys, it is not worth the hype. It stickered at $50,000, and wasn't smooth at all. The only thing I really liked compared to our B5 platform was the shifter was less ropy. So after my Audi drive I went up the road to the BMW dealer. I wanted to check out the difference between a 330i performance package and regular sport package. The salsemen was really cool and let me take out their only zhp (imola red, steptronic n ), but it was a steptronic. It was a lot of fun he let me go on the highway and we got cruising. I even thought I could really live with the steptronic. Then I took out a silver w/grey 330i sport package with a 6 speed. I couldn't even feel the 15hp difference between the two, I guess because of the stick. Anyways, sorry I wrote so much, but I just wanted to let you know how much respect I have for your E46's. Fantastic automobiles! I liked it more than the new S4.
Interesting experience mate! However just one question. I didn't know there was a difference between the ZHP (performance package) and standard 330, in terms of power output. Here in OZ all 330i's weather there sports pack or not, there all come with 231HP (170KW). Is there difference in tourque as well?

In NA, the ZHP (Performace package) has all the features of the ZSP (Sports Package) - namely 18 wheels, alcantara steering wheel, anthracite roof liner, et all.
The ZHP offers 10 more HP (235 vs 225), slightly higher torque (221 vs ~215 or so), and some other changes (suspension) which are open to debate should you search various fourms .
Good to hear your comparisions. Ive seem various tests which list the ZHP has 1/2 to 3/4 second faster on the 0-60. I find this pretty hard to believe, and would be surprised if you could feel a noticable difference between the two in terms of accelleration (although Ill confirm this tommorow when I pick my new one up )
S4, and G35 were other card I considered, with the G35 being to common, and the S4 to freakin expensive (though damn the new ones look nice).

I ordered mine a while ago..still waiting for it. I didn't get the ZHP (or even th ZSP), just the standard one, becuase i don't like some of the extras the performance package comes with, however i still managed to get imola red as the paint job.

I got a 330i, Jet Black.
Im sort of kicking myself for not getting the Imola Red - what ive seen of them looks really really nice. Main reason I didnt was that last car was red)
I just bought a 330i HP today too! Jet Black! I love the color. Mine won't be in the states until 7/8. I'm scared to ask, but what kind of deal did you get?
