Is there anyway to self program the key on a 2004 E46 Convertible. My dealer did not program the locks to chirp on locking or unlocking. I don't have the alarm but would like an audible signal. Any help out there? Thanks
Just go back to the dealer and tell them what you want. You've got a brand new car, they'll help you. Besides, only the dealer can change the unlock chirp settings anyway.

Do you have an alarm system? If you do then your car should chirp. If you don't, get the garage to activate the alarm system (even though you don't have one). Your car will then chirp when you lock up / even without the alarm.
The 04 Convertible won't chirp unless you have an alarm. You can get the lights to flash and the clown nose to blink, though.

before i added the alarm system, i had the dealer program the lights to flash when locking/unlocking and also the "clown nose" under your mirror will blink as well.
the only way to get it to chirp is to have the alarm system installed.
