I've finally upgraded from my trusty '88 325i... I loved the car, but after 320K and a spate of annoying problems, it was time to wave goodbye to e30! (most fun chasis ever!)
i started looking for a replacement... after being given a 330ci as a loan car last year, i knew i wanted when i started, but thought i'd have some fun test driving.... there was an e36 highline 328i convertable - but like all e36s, the rear always felt dead to me (and they never looked at all agressive, except the M)... looked at an early e36 m3 - milage was insane, had to walk away... a porsche boxter was fun, but barely had room for my laptop and breifcase... a '99 540i was sweet, but i wouldn't get it down the lanway to park it at home... didn't like the audi TT (dont like boys either)... benz CLKs are either for-pot or V6 - wrong! (didn't stop me fang'n a few)... there was a '92 500SL! but too old, too big - it was so very cool though... there was a 2.2l Z4 - it came close - the drive was right (unlike the z3), but styling is far to bangled (shoot him!)...
then i found my new wheels... late '01 325Ci... fairly standard mix of options, right price, right age, right milage... no cup holders! (YAY! - if you cant hold your coffee between your knees, you cant drive!)... and very right colours!
why aren't there more with the red leather?

hmm.. I have a question.. if the steering wheel is on the right side does that mean the brake and gas peddles are opposite too? I always just assumed the gas would be on the right and brake on the left even if the wheel was on the right.. forgive my noobishness..

brake is left, accelerator right... but the indicator stalk is still on the left (most domestic cars put it on the right)
it is funny that on older cars (my e30, my cousin's e12) things like the bonnet release and handbrake leaver and auto selector were left on backward for rhd, and the dodgey mechanism that made the brake pedal work on the e30 was scary - kind of amazes me it had any feel to it at all!
red leather sounded a bit scary, but everyone who sees it in the flesh loves it! (thanks for the ego props)
