Just bought 1st BMW: '04 330i! Need help with Phone

Test drove a ton of cars (from Audi's to Infinities and everything in between) and came across this sweet deal I couldn't pass up. 2004 BMW 330i 6 speed, sports package, leather seats, always garaged, 1 owner, mechanic was VERY impressed.... so I just pulled the trigger and I'm in love with this car!

Finished reading the manual and playing with all the buttons, but still can't figure out the phone system. I have a button on the steering wheel that has a person's face speaking and by the rear view mirror, there is a microphone. I'm guessing this car is equipped with some type of telephone system, but can't find where to plug in a phone anywhere!!

Does anyone know how this works? Do I need an adapter? Is it bluetooth?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The steering wheel buttons are for Bluetooth connectivity, but Bluetooth wasn't standard. If you have the original options list, look for BMW Assist or Bluetooth/Phone in the list. If neither appears, then you don't have it. Do you have a button in the center console area to pair your phone with the car? You'll have one if your car has the bluetooth option installed.

I just noticed that you said you have a microphone. Double-check, as that little plstic grill above the rear view mirror is on all E46's, but not all actually have a microphone in there.

Lastly, the best way to determine if you actually have the Bluetooth system installed is to actually try to pair your phone using the instructions form the kit manual:

Maybe I'll stop by the dealer and see if I have it installed. Thanks for your help!
