Question Issues & Questions -help

So I have a couple questions for all the knowledge here. My 2002 325Cic has the red alarm button coming out of bottom of the rear view mirror but it never does anything. I parked in front of another 325 the other day and saw the light blinking. Does anyone know anything about the factory alarm enough to tell me what could be the problem here? I didn't think that LED's went out that often so I didn't know if it was just the bulb. Secondly on the driver's side of the rear view mirror, beside the red alarm knob, are three buttons you can press that have the numbers 1-2-3 on them, does anyone know what the heck these things do because I can't figure it out. Thanks for any help guys!

the 3 series didnt come from the factory with an alarm. the alarm is an add-on accessory. It is prewired for this but not standard. you prob dont have an alarm.

the 3 buttons are a universal garage door opener. Programming instructoions should be in your owners manual if you have one. if not try DTBMW Tips page
