I'm having some consistency problems with this phone talking to the e90...I was able to pair the device properly when I set it up initially & was able make and receive calls just fine but when you turn off the engine and restart the car it has to search again for the device but never finds it.....The iphone says it's still paired though.....Anyone here experience something similar....BMW USA is telling me the software version I have may not be compatible with BMW....My version is 2.2.1....
Could this be an iphone problem and not a bimmer issue?
I just talked to the dealer and they think the car will need a 'programming update'...Asked how much this costs'....$200.00 at least w/o warranty.....Yikes
Nah I haven't....I talked to AT&T and all they were able to do was verify my current software version.....BMW NA tells me that they haven't tested my phones version yet....
I have a very similar issue issue. I can pair but after that the phone and car can't find each other. The phone even has several characters of the VIN in it, so I'm pretty sure the paring worked. Took the car to the dealer to figure it out and the dealer said that it would be fixed with next iPhone software update; this answer sounded like an "i don't know" to me. Have you made any progress on fixing it? I am under warranty, so my thought is to say that the bluetooth doesn't work and have a warranty radio swap.

I wouldn't accept that answer from the dealer especially if your still under warranty...did you ask about getting that 'programming update' or ask to see if they can pair it for you? Once the pair is complete though you'll see the cd display say add or reject device...you accept it and you're good to go....
I did have the dealer pair it. . .the pairing part works fine, but after that the car gets into a loop where the CD player won't get past a message that says "searching for paired devices." I don't get to a place where I can accept or reject anything. I didn't ask for a programming update, but I'll make the call.
