Hey,

I recently purchased a 2000 323i. The interior panel beneath the moon roof seems to have fallen off the track. I'm being told that the parts are relatively inexpensive (clips and perhaps a new panel as the old one is slightly dirty), but the labor will be ridiculous, as it's apparently a time consuming process. Of course, I'm going through a dealer, so I know I'm getting taken to the cleaners here.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a quick and cheaper way to fix this without taking down the ceiling of the interior and/or going through the dealer?

Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks,
basmati.

Go to a reputable Windshield/Upholstery shop.
The bigger name places are not better.
Find a place that is very highly rated, that have worked on BMW's.
Moonroof problems are nothing for them, they see them all the time!
You will get a better job and save a tonne of cash!
Good Luck
