Inspection Interval

How hard is this to turn off? How is it accomplished? Does it absolutely have to be done by the dealer? Thanks!

E46 3 series 2001 and up:

Press and hold the left side trip button in the instrument cluster.
Turn the ignition to the first position (accessory).
Continue to hold the trip button until the indicator starts to flash, and it'll say "reset" or something to that effect.
Now, let go of the trip button, and press it once more, and it resets.

Good luck !
Z.
